Study regarding theories of personality development and adjustment. Emphasis can be on several personality and adjustment ideas and their the use of the two for counselling purposes. It is also meant to elucidate on social influences on personality, development and modification processes especially in counselling romance.

WEEK six: Principles of Human Conduct (Alfred Adler)

WEEK almost eight: Applications of Adler's Theory of Personality to Nigeria WEEK 9: Concept of Human Nature (Henry Murray)

WEEK 10: Psychogenic Needs of Man (Henry Murray)

WEEK 11: Character Structure and its particular processes (Harry Stack Sullivan) WEEK doze: Stages of Personality Advancement (Stack Sullivan)

WEEK 13: Concept of Human Nature (Gordon Allport)

WEEK 16: Concept and type of Attributes (Gordon Allport)

Study course Justification: Guidance is a special helping relationship between the counsellor (helper) and the client (helpee). The helpee's effectiveness depends on his do it yourself understanding and optimal realignment. Herein lays the rationale in this course which in turn a systematic examination of various counselling theories in personality and adjustment and their integration in the counselling process. Course Objective: At the end of the course, learners should be able to • Identify and explain in least five theories of personality while propounded by renown psychologists

• Present the various approaches of handling personality-induced behavioural problems of Nigerian customers

• Describe principles of human actions as propounded by relevant authorities • Identify periods of character development and psychosexual stages of creation

• Focus on the various body often employed by people with behavioural problems

• Discuss aspects of applicability from the various ideas to the Nigerian counselling establishing

Training course Requirements: This is a mandatory course for a lot of students of Counsellor Education. Consequently attendance by lectures is usually compulsory. In least 75% attendance record is required for a college student to meet the criteria to sit for the end of semester assessment. Students are also expected to sign up to an email account for successful e-discussions.
