Gun Regulations in Foreign Countries Article

Due to new events taking place in America, individuals have been searching for reforms in our nation's weapon laws so that they may think safer in their homes and inside the nation's schools. As opposed to some countries, America can not be considered " harsh” using its gun regulations, nor could it be considered weakened when compared to still other countries. When looking to reform the gun laws, our land should change and upgrade our regulations after countries with more powerful guns regulations, such as Switzerland and Canada.

With 3. 84 weapon related deaths per 75, 000 persons, and only. 52 of those fatalities being homicides, Switzerland is one the countries with all the lowest weapon deaths per year (" Wikipedia”). This is due to the countries strict control on weapons and gun usage. One among their most unique laws in the government requirement for all able-bodied men to have an automatic tool in their house, and ammunition, in the case of a call to military obligation. The ammo for the gun has to be kept closed and is totally accounted for by government. Residents are required to retain this weapon from age 20 to age 42, the life long their militia service, and are then given the option to keep the firearm with the automated function removed (Cotter). Along with the required militia weapons, the Swiss govt also has strict policies about privately possessed firearms. Just like the military firearms, the privately owned guns and the ammution are all listed and accounted for by the authorities. Any and all non listed ammunition can be used at a government owned firing range, and non-e is permitted to leave the premises (Cotter). Finally, the Swiss authorities has strong laws about " hide and carry” hand weapons. The citizen who will end up being carrying the weapon will need to have a reason to become carrying the weapon, understand how to carry the firearm, and discover how to use it securely to carry the weapon (Cotter). It is no real surprise that Swiss is one of the most trusted countries when it comes to guns.
