Moral Issues in Employment Regulation

There are many different regulations that business employers must follow to become fair with their employees also to avoid getting penalized by government. These types of laws however are broken often especially since these types of laws limit the employer and will make this more challenging for them to conduct all their business instead of to look out for all their employees. The Fair Labor and Standards Act of 1938 can be one of the main works that help the labor regulations here in the usa (Ko, Medeloff, 2010). The Fair Labor and Requirements Act (FLSA) created the forty-hour work week, established the minimum income for the nation as well as ensuring that there were restrictions for utilizing minors. Prior to the creation of this act companies were not controlled and you could see workers working extremely long weeks with different pay and also young children working in factories in dangerous conditions. President Franklin Roosevelt declared that this single piece of guidelines was one of the important in the history of the us. Since the creation of this act there have been a large number of amendments to keep to help guard the rights of workers in all varieties of working domains. Some of those amendments include the Grow older Discrimination in Employment Take action, Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Safeguard Act and Fair Lowest Wage Take action just to identity a few. All of these labor serves and laws and regulations are ruled by the United States Department of Labor whose sole task is to make certain that employers in every fields adhere to specific suggestions for pay out, safety and advancement options (Ko, Medeloff, 2010). Personally i think like the ethical part of pursuing the labor laws and regulations are what companies should certainly listen to, the laws happen to be put in place to ensure that the employees are treated properly. Anytime i want one particular time that I experienced breaking a labor regulation at the price of myself it was after i was employed in the contracting industry. I was in high school and in the summers We would work for a contracting firm that do many different kinds of jobs many techniques from remodels to new construction. In a particular job where we were carrying out a remodel on a commercial building I was getting rid of old linoleum flooring in the back hallway of this building days and days of trying to remove the flooring it came up known simply by an inspector to contain asbestos inside the material and that I was being exposed to above the maximum level of asbestos in the air. The Occupational Protection and Health Administration (OSHA) which is a distinct department within the United States Office of Labor, states that the maximum standard of exposure to asbestos that an employee can work within is 0. 1 fibers per cubic centimeter since an average more than an 8 hour period of time (OSHA, 2011). Anything above this limit the employer is subject to aigu? from OSHA and probably the Environmental Security Agency (EPA). In my particular case the exposure level was nearing 0. 2 which is close to double the acceptable limit, when it was found my personal employer was fined by simply OSHA together to shut their particular job internet site down to get 5 times and pay for a remediation staff to appear in and remove the asbestos (OSHA, 2011). The company...
