Prompt: A mistakenly cynical view of human patterns holds that people are generally driven simply by selfish reasons: the desire intended for wealth, for power, or perhaps for popularity. Conscience-that effective inner tone of voice that lets us know what is correct and exactly what is wrong-can be a more convincing force than money, electric power, or fame.
