A P L ABDUL KALAM
India's eleventh President, A. P. J. Abdul Kalam assumed office on September 25, 2002. He was born on 15th October 1931 at Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu. Dr . Kalam has become often referred to as the " Missile Man of India" the Project Director of India's first indigenous Satellite Release Vehicle (SLV-III). Career. This individual graduated in aeronautical executive from the Echarpe Institute of Technology in 1958 and joined the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). In 1962, Kalam became a member of the American indian Space Study Organisation (ISRO). In 1982, this individual rejoined DRDO as the Chief Executive of Integrated Guided Missile Creation Programme (IGMDP). Dr . Kalam is credited with the development and operationalisation of India's Agni and Prithvi missiles. He worked as the Scientific Advisor to the Protection Minister and Secretary, Section of Defence Research & Development via 1992 to 1999. During this time period, the Pokhran-II nuclear checks were carried out. Dr . Kalam held school of the Primary Scientific Expert to the Federal government of India from November 1999 to November 2001.
Dr . Kalam took up teaching at Anna School, Chennai coming from November 2001. He is a prolific writer.
